Polish shipyard Galeon Yachts has released technical and design details for the latest iteration of its flagship sports cruiser, the Galeon 700 Skydeck. The vessel marks the ninth hull built on the 700 platform and is the first to debut a redesigned interior developed in partnership with Hong Kong’s InSitu Design.

The Galeon 700 Skydeck design and architecture

The 700 Skydeck is the largest model in Galeon’s sport-focused Skydeck range, which spans from 47 to 70 feet. Originally launched in 2010, the series is engineered around a hybrid architectural concept. It integrates a low-profile, upper-deck sports helm station into a coupé silhouette, maintaining a lower centre of gravity and sleeker exterior lines than a traditional flybridge layout.

The main deck features an open-plan salon, a central galley, and panoramic superstructure glazing to maximise natural light. Accommodation layout options below deck are flexible, centered around a standard full-beam master stateroom amidships and an ensuite VIP cabin forward. Two intermediate guest cabins can be configured as doubles, twins, or as a single bed with a Pullman berth that conceals a drop-down work desk when folded away. Aft configuration choices include either a dedicated crew cabin for two or a dedicated tender and toy garage.

The vessel is constructed using weight-conscious composite materials. Propulsion is delivered via a twin-engine drivetrain, with top-tier configurations utilising twin 1,200hp MAN V8 diesels. This powertrain delivers a cruising speed of 23 knots and a maximum recorded speed of 32 knots.

Revitalised interior and engineering

The bigger story here is the current updates which have focused primarily on materials, spatial geometry, and engineering refinements. They say a picture tells a thousand words which we will leave with you below. The new interior architecture is refined and elegant. It uses rounded panel edges and features five distinct Mediterranean-themed material palettes—including ‘Pearl’, ‘Amber’, and ‘Ivory’. Material finishes include Italian leather upholstery, textile wall panels, natural timber cabinetry, and ceramic surfaces.

Structural storage compartments are built directly into the bulkheads to optimise usable space during extended coastal passages.
