Maritimo will proudly showcase the Americas launch of the S50 Sedan Motor Yacht and at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2026

# Australian Motor Yacht Builder Brings S50 to North American Market

Maritimo’s new S50 Sedan Motor Yacht will make its Americas debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in late October, marking the Australian builder’s latest entry into a market segment it reckons has been underserved for too long. Following a global launch at Sanctuary Cove earlier this year, the 50-footer arrives in North America as a strategic addition to Maritimo’s model range, sitting comfortably within the proven 50 to 75-foot sweet spot where the Queensland builder has built a loyal following.

The timing is deliberate. Maritimo spent two decades building boats for the demanding Australian waters that surround its home, and that experience informs every design decision. The company’s engineering DNA reflects what working in challenging offshore conditions demands: reliable seakeeping, efficient performance, durable systems and straightforward, easy-to-maintain engineering. Those same qualities matter just as much to owners cruising the San Juan Islands, the Great Lakes or making extended passages down the US East Coast.

At its heart, the S50 trades complexity for practicality. Twin Volvo Penta D13 diesels (800 horsepower standard, with a 1,000hp option available) drive shallow shaft-drive propulsion, a configuration Maritimo has refined over many years. The engineering philosophy remains consistent throughout: introduce only the technology and systems that genuinely contribute to performance, reliability and how the boat actually gets used.

The cockpit, aft galley, salon and helm flow together on a single level, creating an uninterrupted living and entertaining space with excellent sightlines and a natural connection to the water. The aft galley opens to port with domestic refrigeration, cooktop, oven and generous storage, while an integrated cockpit boot incorporates seating, a barbecue and sink. The distinctive roof structure, with its large overhang and black highlights, provides solid all-weather protection while establishing a sleek profile.

A standout feature is Maritimo’s Adaptive Swim Platform, which tilts and lowers for water access but raises and integrates flush with the transom when underway. When vertical, it reduces the yacht’s overall length, a practical advantage for owners dealing with tight marina berths or restricted pen sizes.

Panoramic windows with opening side sections and a central skylight bring natural light and ventilation through the saloon. Below deck, two generously proportioned staterooms feature ensuite bathrooms, with the forward VIP offering twin or double berth options. A convertible settee in the main saloon adds sleeping capacity to six, while domestic appliances including a washer and dryer support extended cruising.

For Maritimo, the S50 addresses an important positioning question. Its size and relative ease of handling offer an approachable entry into Maritimo ownership, while existing owners get a more manageable platform without sacrificing the space, offshore credentials or cruising amenities they value. According to Phil Candler, Maritimo’s operations manager, the design concept reflects shifting owner priorities. “The S50 Sedan has been conceived to deliver a seamless connection between interior and exterior living spaces,” he explains. “The expansive main saloon offers a level of openness, natural light and airflow that sets a new benchmark in this category.”

Maritimo Americas’ customer service team will provide dedicated support throughout the ownership experience, reinforcing relationships between builder, dealer and owner long after delivery.

The S50 goes on public display at Fort Lauderdale from 28 October to 1 November 2026.
