Bay of Islands Sailing Week is back, running from Sunday 24 to Thursday 28 January 2027 out of Opua, with the Bay of Islands Swordfish Club as event headquarters. This year the event has major support from Explore Group and North Sails
This year’s regatta also hosts the 2027 Sports Boat Class Championship.
Crews can choose Open Racing, a mix of windward/leeward courses and Bay races, or Island Racing, which sticks to Bay races with spinnaker and non-spinnaker options. Divisions cover keelboats, multihulls, trailer yachts, sports boats and a dedicated Young 88 fleet.
There’s good reason to get in early. Event partner, Navico’s B&G, has provided a V20S VHF DSC Marine Radio set as a random prize for a lucky entry made between now and the end of December.
