ON THE RADAR

Furuno has unveiled two new Radars for workboats and fishing vessels.

The 12kW FAR1416 and 25kW FAR1426 Radars incorporate new features and simplified operation in a versatile, space-saving package.

The processor is housed in the Radar’s 15-inch colour display unit, which can be installed in either portrait or landscape. The FAR1416/1426 Series adds Fast Target Tracking, to display the speed and course vector of a target, and Automatic Clutter Elimination to excellent target detection.

Chart/Radar overlay is available.

Target Analyzer picks out potentially hazardous approaching targets in red, safe targets or sea surface reflections in green and rain patches in grey.

Up to 30,000 marks and lines, 3,500 waypoints, and 200 routes with up to 100 waypoints each, can be saved.

Radar can be controlled using an ergonomic trackball control unit or an optional trackball-only controller. Antenna and gearbox are the same as Furuno’s previous FR8002/8005 Series.
