Haswing’s Ultima electric outboard is a match for small inflatables, tenders and car-toppers. It can also be used to power small yachts, or as an auxiliary motor.

Its brushless electric motor can deliver up to 110lbs thrust – equivalent to a 4hp petrol outboard – via a step-less adjustable speed control in either forward or reverse. At 15.9kg, it is considerably lighter than a 4hp petrol outboard.

The Ultima’s vertical battery mount design results in an extremely compact outboard. The battery is easily removed, leaving two easy-to-handle, easily stowed components.

Suitable for salt and freshwater use, the super-quiet Ultima boasts a maximum speed of around five knots, cruising economically at around three knots for up to 18 nautical miles (34km) on a single charge.

Its rechargeable LiPo battery has a LED level indicator, an extendable folding, tilting handle, and a handy magnetic kill switch. With seven tilting positions, it can be used in almost every depth of water.

The Ultima is available for $2499 through Lusty & Blundell’s network of leading marine dealers.
