Aussie boat shows cancelled

Written by

The Board and Executive of the Australian Boating Industry Association (BIA) has resolved to cancel the Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide Boat Shows for 2020.

This follows recent postponement announcements for the independent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in Queensland and the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland, both originally scheduled for May.

The cancellations and postponements come in the wake of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

The BIA acknowledges that its membership is doing it very tough with this health crisis coming on the top of a difficult summer and is applying all of its energy into limiting the restrictions on our industry while maximising the available government support.

“We need to come together, support each other, follow the government directives and look after the most vulnerable in our industry and our community,” the statement reads.
