UNLEASHED – THE ANIMAL 7

Written by

The Mad Hueys on the Gold Coast, Australia, have unleashed their latest offshore weapon The Animal 7. The vessel by Stessl Boats will be ground-zero for the team’s latest surfing, fishing and partying antics, which have grown them a 400,000-strong following on Instagram.

The Mad Hueys embody the Queensland coastal lifestyle through wild fishing, surfing and boating stunts, by Shaun and Dean Harrington and mate Dean Morrison. With the help of their trademark “shoey”, the trio has built a local empire that includes clothing, sunglasses, stubby coolers, bags and thongs, as well as the annual release of fundraising merchandise.

Recently, The Mad Hueys donated $12,000 to the charity Legacy, which supports the families of service people killed or injured in the line of duty. The funds came from sales of the 2022 “For the Diggers” merchandise range, which sold out within 24 hours.

From 2019 to 2020 alone, the company experienced 80% growth, with 15% of its revenue now coming from fans overseas. The majority of The Mad Hueys’ international revenue comes from the USA.
