New boats galore

The Auckland Boat Show got underway on March 14 with a record number of yachts making their New Zealand debut.

Filling Auckland’s Jellicoe Harbour and Viaduct Events Centre, the show had over 250 boats on display, with new boat brands to New Zealand from Norway, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and France, as well as new launches from New Zealand.

“The large number of yacht debuts this year reflects the New Zealand marine market’s rapid growth in the larger sections of the market. People are buying bigger, expecting more, and embracing the luxury marine market within New Zealand,” says Auckland Boat Show organiser, Stacey Cook.

The show’s unique sea trial area got plenty of attention from the public and marine industry alike. It gave show-goers the opportunity to experience how vessels perform on the water.

Each year the show presents the largest collection of vessels on the water available to view in New Zealand, acting as a one-stop shop for the industry to gather with its audience in Jellicoe Harbour and the Viaduct Events Centre. As always, Boating New Zealand was there, this year with an eye-catching new stand, meeting readers, selling subscriptions and networking with the marine industry.
