HamiltonJet Expands Production Capacity

HamiltonJet, a global leader in marine propulsion technology, opened a new 7,500m2 factory in Christchurch, marking a significant expansion in its 70-year history and a milestone for advanced manufacturing in New Zealand.

The event, attended by over 450 guests including Hon. Chris Penk, celebrated HamiltonJet’s investment in New Zealand’s future. Founded in the 1950s, HamiltonJet has grown to become a world leader in waterjet propulsion systems, with products used in over 70 countries.

The new facility increases floor space by 50%, enabling dedicated production lines for small and large jets, and reflects HamiltonJet’s commitment to sustainability and efficiency.

HamiltonJet currently employs 430 people in Christchurch, of whom 187 work in manufacturing, a number projected to grow to 220 once the new facility reaches full capacity.
