Kingfisher Boats is heading to the 2026 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show with something new to show off. The Hamilton-based builder will reveal a brand-new Powercat model at Stand EX61, developed quietly over recent months and making its public debut at the show from 14-17 May.
The new model joins two other boats on the stand: the flagship 730 Powercat and a freshly built 510 Centre Console Powercat, the latter delivered to the team at Beyond the Coast.
Kingfisher 730 Powercat
The 730 is Kingfisher’s offshore-focused flagship, built around a 2.49m beam that delivers generous walkaround deck space for fishing, diving and extended passages. Twin 220-litre fuel tanks and engine options from 135 to 200hp twin give it genuine range, while a towing weight of around 3,500kg means it remains trailable.

Two configurations are available: an open cabin layout for anglers wanting maximum working deck, and a weekender enclosed cabin with a forward berth for overnight use. Standard equipment is extensive, covering hydraulic steering, twin start batteries, Octigrip non-slip surfaces, a rocket launcher, bowrails, and a full wiring loom with 8-way switch panel.
Kingfisher 510 Centre Console Powercat
The 510 punches well above its 5.1m length. With a 2.33m beam and capacity for six people, it offers deck space that competes with larger monohulls, along with the stability advantages of a twin-hull design that makes anchored fishing and gear preparation noticeably easier.
Recommended power is 115hp, and a towing weight from 1,000kg makes it manageable for solo launching. The oversized bow casting platform suits softbait and stickbait fishing, while shallow draft opens up beaches and reef edges that deeper boats can’t access.

Standard features include hydraulic steering, a self-draining anchor well, integrated bait station, dual dry storage areas forward, and Octigrip surfaces throughout.
