As the global launch of the new S50 rapidly approaches, several development standout elements are coming into sharp focus.

# The S50 Takes Shape: Inside Maritimo’s Latest Evolution

With the 2026 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show less than a month away, Maritimo’s new S50 is entering its final development phase, and the Brisbane builder is pulling back the curtain on what’s shaping up to be one of its most thoughtful designs yet.

From the outside, the S50 announces itself with distinctive striping and curvaceous styling that signal a step forward in the brand’s design language. But it’s the main saloon that’s generating the real buzz internally. Walk through those doors and you’re immediately struck by the scale of the space, the abundance of natural light, and the seamless connection between inside and out.

The roof height is deceptively generous for such a sleek profile. A central glass skylight strip with two opening hatches floods the saloon with light, while tall windows and large side openings create genuine airflow and a palpable sense of openness. It’s the kind of space that rewards long passages, where anchoring and entertaining actually feel like the main event rather than a necessary pause between destinations.

Paul Wrench, Manufacturing Manager, describes the design as having “a real Euro flare” without sacrificing Maritimo’s traditional build quality. The new boot, for instance, stretches the cockpit by 300mm and incorporates moulded seating, the BBQ and sink all within its curved lines. The tilting swim platform is particularly clever, nestling neatly behind the boot when raised.

Below decks, the proven two-cabin layout from the M50 remains unchanged, but topside is where the S50 makes its statement. The galley spans the port side with domestic-grade appliances positioned to capture maximum natural light. Starboard holds a full-height pull-out pantry, an additional fridge-freezer combo beneath a bench, and the twin helm chairs with their cantilevered inboard seat to enhance sightlines.

The dinette converts into a large double bunk, the galley workflow follows genuine cruising logic rather than marketing checklist, and storage is distributed intelligently throughout rather than compromised by eye candy.

This isn’t a scaled-down version of something larger. It’s a fresh interpretation of what Maritimo does best: build boats that live well offshore. The S50 launches at Sanctuary Cove next month.
