A new era for the day boat

The rise of the luxury day boat has transformed coastal cruising from Miami to the Med. Now that trend is reaching New Zealand’s shores. The Sialia 45 Sport, the newest model from Sialia Yachts, shows how electric propulsion and European design thinking are reshaping what we expect from a day cruiser.

Built in Poland and preparing for launch this autumn, the Sialia 45 Sport is designed to be equally at home in Fort Lauderdale, Saint-Tropez, or the Bay of Islands. She blends speed, range, and effortless handling with a strong focus on entertaining.

Her low draft of just 0.85 metres and 13.7-metre length make her perfectly suited to slipping into quiet anchorages or marina berths. At the same time, she has the punch to cross open water with ease—think Auckland to Great Barrier, or Miami to the Bahamas—on a single charge.

Electric performance without compromise

At the heart of the Sialia 45 Sport is her twin 300 kW electric motors, delivering a cruising speed of 25 knots and a top speed of 43 knots. In her pure electric configuration, she offers more than 70 nautical miles of range. With a range extender installed, that jumps to 164 nautical miles—enough for a full day of exploration or a weekend run to remote bays.

Owners will also appreciate how quickly she can recharge. Thanks to 350 kW DC fast-charging capability, the Sialia 45 is the fastest-charging electric yacht on the market. She also connects easily to AC shore power at marinas across New Zealand. Integrated solar panels support onboard systems, reducing generator hours and environmental impact.

Her hull, designed by Swedish naval architects Petestep, provides a dry, comfortable ride while maximising efficiency. Combined with carbon and glass construction, this keeps weight down and performance sharp.

Designed for entertaining

While her performance numbers turn heads, the Sialia 45 Sport is also a social platform. Two main deck layouts are offered:

  • Sandbar: a sportier arrangement with seating for six and an exterior galley, perfect for adventures with mates.
  • Lounge: a more relaxed family-oriented design, with sunbathing space, benches for eight, an enlarged aft lounger, and a full dining table for alfresco meals.

Below deck, owners can configure accommodation to suit overnight trips. With space for up to 12 guests onboard during the day, she is as much about lifestyle as performance.

Trim levels—Active, Plus, and Premium—allow buyers to tailor materials, finishes, and features. Drivetrain options (Scout, Performance, and Range) further refine how the yacht is used, whether for coastal hops, pure electric efficiency, or longer passages.

A European influence with Kiwi relevance

Sialia’s decision to introduce a 45-foot model is no accident. “Opting for a 45-foot size allows for versatility and accessibility, fitting into most marinas and manageable for single operators,” says Stanislav Szadkowski, founder and CEO of Sialia Yachts.

It’s a formula that resonates in New Zealand. A boat capable of fast electric cruising between Auckland and Waiheke, or weaving through the coves of the Marlborough Sounds, appeals to those seeking adventure without the compromise of traditional fuel reliance.

As Chief Commercial Officer Milvio Ricci explains, “When she sets sail, she will not just join the world of electric yachting, she will redefine it.”

A glimpse of the future

The Sialia 45 Sport captures where boating is heading: quieter, cleaner, but no less thrilling. She blends sustainability with style, and European refinement with the versatility Kiwis demand from their boats.
