Pearl 73 to make world debut at Cannes

Written by

Pearl Yachts will introduce the Pearl 73 to the world at September’s Cannes Yachting Festival, running 8 to 13 September on the French Riviera. The new flybridge model joins the Pearl 63 and Pearl 82 on the builder’s stand, giving visitors a look across most of the current range: the 63 sits in the 20-metre segment, while the 82, often called a compact superyacht, remains Pearl’s largest model in the water.

Design-wise, naval architect Bill Dixon has sharpened the 73’s exterior lines. Inside, the galley has shifted aft between cockpit and saloon, glazing has grown to let in more light, and fold-down balconies open the aft cockpit into a waterside terrace at anchor. Kelly Hoppen has created a new Monochrome interior scheme, working in greys, off-whites and charcoal tones. Layout runs to four cabins, with a forward master suite and a second full-beam master amidships. Twin MAN V12 engines push the boat to 32 knots.

Founder and managing director Iain Smallridge said owner feedback shaped the new model, and pointed ahead to the Pearl 100 Hybrid, the brand’s incoming flagship, due in the United States later this year.

All three Cannes yachts, the 73, 63 and 82, carry Pearl’s five-year warranty. Public viewing begins Tuesday, 8 September, with a media unveiling for the Pearl 73 following on Wednesday, 9 September, at 11am.
