New owners for Ray Bryant Marine

Written by

Father and son duo Dennis and James McCorkindale have purchased well-known Auckland Mercury and Mercruiser dealer and service centre Ray Bryant Marine from founder Ray Bryant.

Over the last 40 years the company has built a reputation as an authorised Mercury Marine and MerCruiser dealer and service centre. It specialises in electronic diagnostics, major engine repowers, routine maintenance, and supplying genuine replacement parts.

With the workshop strategically located close to the Half Moon Bay Marina hardstand and its haul-out facilities, Ray Bryant Marine can service both trailer boats and large vessels directly from the water.

Dennis ‘Mac’ McCorkindale is a marine industry veteran with experience in marine manufacturing, trailer boat building, boat and motor retailing, and more recently trailer repairs.

James is an experienced marine technician with a passion for Mercury engines and powerboat racing. He has worked across a wide range of vessels, from outboard and sterndrive powered to larger inboards. He spent the last three years in Queensland specialising in marine diesel maintenance and repairs, while also getting involved in high-performance boating and racing. Now back home in New Zealand, James brings his extensive experience and passion for performance boating to the Bryant Marine team and Dennis and James look forward to pooling their skills and taking the dealership and service centre to a new level.

Dennis and James wish to acknowledge Ray’s outstanding work within the business over the last 40 years and wish him well in his retirement.
